IP MANAGEMENT

Managing trade marks. copyrights materials, patents and printed documents was challenging. Needed a solution through which the organizations can manage and maintain their trade marks, patents and customer agreement more effectively. Convert all physical documents to digital assets. Update these on need basis and maintain regularly.


Solution

Solution was to create a web application that assist in the tracking of trademarks, copyrights, patents, and other intellectual property. Law firms and corporations utilize these tools to manage databases of trademarks, automate forms and correspondence for new and ongoing intellectual property ownership, and track possible violations of legal rights for subsequent prosecution.


Scope

Entire project was estimated for 6 Months. My scope was to conduct workshop, understand business requirements and user needs, set a design direction and come up with end to end functional flows. Create wireframes and clickable prototype for all the modules.

Approach


Week1

Discovery phase was planned at the offshore location. It was 1 week workshop and the goal of the workshop was to finalize the functional requirements, modules, user cases, user task flows. It was a collaborative workshop in which BA, Technical Architect and UX Designer was present through out the workshop. Captured real-time scenarios and ideations on different modules and over all system structure was defined and agreed with white boarding sessions. Quick sketches were created for each module functional flows, which led to faster decision making and approvals.

Overall Experience


It was a great learning experience. Project gave me an opportunity to gain logistic domain as part of initial discovery phase. I was able to work with SharePoint tool and explore bit on that. Overall solution that could simplify project management for managers and their team. Natively integrating with Microsoft Office, showing a customizable dashboard to give stakeholders the exact metrics needed to get the job done right – on time and on budget is worth mentioning.
